Try this solution

Loosen the MITER LOCKING HANDLE (8)

Loosen the MITER LOCKING HANDLE (1) by turning it counter-clockwise then squeeze and hold the MITER DETENT RELEASE (2) upwards while shifting the tool to the desired position on the MITER SCALE(3).
