Ensure that the chain brake is not engaged
To deactivate the hand brake, release the ON/OFF SWITCH and pull the CHAIN STOP LEVER (5) backwards to position 1. You will hear a click.
The CHAIN STOP LEVER (5) is a safety mechanism that causes the chain to quickly stop. In many cases when kickback occurs the operator’s hand strikes the CHAIN STOP LEVER (5) causing it to activate. When activated, the moving chain quickly stops.
